What a great adventure!

We stayed at the Summit Retreat for almost a week for 2010 New Year?s celebration. The area is gorgeous, not crowded, it was perfect for us. A lots of snow which we enjoyed very much. Matt and family who manages this place are amazing people that helped us with everything we needed. The place is in the middle of nowhere and the only transportation into town and sky resort was snowmobiles or the snowcat which was a continuous challenge giving the fact that we were 60 people. We got to enjoy snowmobiling for the entire stay and skiing was perfect at Brian's Head. The Summit Retreat main cabin is this huge gorgeous place surrounded by trees and anywhere you look you have amazing views of the mountains. Out of 60 people almost everyone had altitude sickness one day or another giving the 10,000 feet altitude which we were not used to. Some people needed oxygen, some had stomach sickens or headaches, so be prepared to experience these things if you are not used to high altitudes. The rooms were very clean and well equipped and the bunk beds semi-private rooms are ok for younger people who don't expect much from their room other than a place to sleep. The Yurts are large, nice for families especially the ones with the bathroom. Kitchen area was exactly how we expected to be fully equipped for large groups. Overall we had a great time, kids had a great time and Matt and Angela's family was truly amazing, we enjoyed knowing them.
Manager's Response:
We have since added a mini oxygen bar to help guest that suffer from high altitude issues such as headaches. Guest coming from sea level are more prone to high altitude sickness and hydration is key in offsetting these issues. Also, the high altitude drink "Oxylent" and personal oxygen inhalers "Oxygen Plus" is available in our gift shop for purchase.
Great corporate retreat setting

From the first communications I had with Matt I knew that this facility was going to work well for our corporate retreat. Matt was very responsive to questions I had and was proactive in looking at activities for us to do as a group. While we were there Matt was always available to help us with any questions and checked in from time to time to see if we needed anything. The lodge is great! Fantastic views! Comfortable beds. Large and functional great room which was perfect for holding our meetings and for relaxing after hours. The commercial kitchen was great for preparing meals for our group. The yurts are an experience too. I already miss the quietness of the outdoors, the clear skies, bright stars and mountain air!
